Ruth Eastelow - Photographer
Ruth originally studied Film at the University of Creative Arts in Farnham - it was here that her interest in photography was sparked.
Being entirely self-taught, Ruth has developed her photographic skills over a period of years and now photographs a variety of subjects ranging from coastal landscapes, gigs, cars and portraits to night photography. Often her coastal landscapes convey a sense of tranquillity, while in contrast, images from gigs are often full of energy and movement.
In the spring of 2007, Ruth held a successful joint exhibition at Cranleigh Arts Centre (with Katharine Gordon), with a large attendance at the private view. Ruth displayed a selection of both framed work and canvas pieces.
Having spent the summer of 2007 attending many car events across the country, Ruth has developed a particularly interest in classic American cars, such as the Mustang, as well old style Minis. Often shooting close up, images are full of colour, accentuating cars’ curves and shapes.
Ruth also photographed the annual Rudgwick Music Festival this summer. In all, she photographed seven bands, the results of which can be seen at: www.photoboxgallery.com
