Sharon Duggan - Singer
Sharon Duggan is the founder of The Cranfold Artists' Collective, which she set up in 2006.
Sharon started out as a singer/songwriter on a semi-professional basis at fifteen, then moved to London in her early twenties where she sang in numerous bands of various genres, before starting to work as a session singer at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios. She was then signed for a record deal.
She undertook a formal classical training during the 1990s with Findlay Wilson of English National Opera, while taking time out of professional singing to bring up her daughter. She now works as a contemporary singer/singing and performance teacher currently singing in a jazz/swing duo with Ray Jessup and also with her daughter, the singer/songwriter Eleanore Duggan, whom she also manages.
Sharon is a qualified teacher. Her teaching credits include being the Individual Vocals Tutor at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in Guildford from 2000 - 2002; the singing & performance tutor at Cranleigh Arts Centre since 2001. She has also been the singing tutor for the West Sussex Adult Education Service since 2006 as well as being the choral director for the Cranleigh Contemporary Choir, which she set up the same year.
